Acceptable use policy

Last updated October 23, 2026

This policy is part of our terms of service. It covers what you may store on Fastwater and how you may use the website, the API, and the apps that connect to it.

What you can store

Store only files you have the right to download and keep. Do not add, store, or stream:

  • files that infringe copyright or other rights. Our copyright policy explains how we handle notices;
  • any content that sexually exploits children. We remove it, close the account, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children;
  • intimate images of a person shared without their consent;
  • malware, or files meant to harm other people's devices;
  • anything else that is illegal where you live or in the US.

How you can use the service

Do not:

  • attack, probe, or overload the service, or get around its rate limits;
  • share your account, resell the service, or get around your plan's limits, for example with several trial accounts;
  • use Fastwater to share files publicly, for example by posting share links on websites, forums, or social media. Share links are for a few people you know. Playback links are for you and expire after a few hours;
  • use another person's account, API key, or app access without their permission.

API keys and apps

Keep your API keys secret. You are responsible for what apps you connect do with your account. An app that breaks this policy can lose its access.

What we do

When something breaks this policy, we can remove files, block them from being added again, cancel transfers, and suspend or close the account. We usually tell you why. For serious or repeated problems, we may act without warning.

Report a problem

To report abuse, email abuse@fastwater.app. Send copyright notices to dmca@fastwater.app.
