Fastwater on Fire TV

The Fastwater app runs on Fire TV Sticks, the Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV smart TVs that run Fire OS. It's the same app as on Google TV.

Fire TV devices on Fire OS 6 or later: the Fire TV Stick 4K (2018 and later), Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV smart TVs.

What the app does

Set it up

  1. On the Fire TV, open the Appstore and search for Fastwater.
  2. Download it, then open it to see your sign-in code.
  3. Scan the QR code with your phone, or go to fastwater.app/link on a phone or computer and sign in.
  4. Check the code matches, name the TV, and approve. The TV signs in within a few seconds.

Good to know on Fire TV

  • The newest Fire TV Sticks (the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD and 4K Select, and later ones) run Vega OS, which can't run Android apps. A Vega version of the app is coming.
  • Fire OS 5 devices (the 2015 and 2016 Fire TV Sticks) are too old for the app.

Is there a Put.io alternative for Fire TV?
Yes. Fastwater works like Put.io: paste a magnet link or add a .torrent file, and it downloads to your private cloud. Its own Fire TV app plays your library. Plans start at $6.99 a month for 200 GB. Does it work on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select?
Not yet. That stick runs Vega OS, which can't install Android apps, so it needs its own version of the app, which we're building. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Cube run the app today.

Can I add downloads from the TV?
Not from the TV app. Add a magnet link or a .torrent file in the dashboard on a phone or computer, or from Putflix, ChatGPT, or Claude. It shows up on the TV when it's ready.
