Setup guide

Open Fastwater in Finder

Finder connects to Fastwater over WebDAV, so your files open like any other folder on your Mac.

Works on macOS.

Before you start

WebDAV is on the Standard and Pro plans. On the Apps page, press Set up on Finder and File Explorer: it creates a key for this app and shows these steps with your details filled in.

Connection details

Server
https://fastwater.app/dav/
Username
fastwater (any name works)
Password
Your WebDAV key

For an app without a password field, use the link with the key in it, https://fastwater.app/dav/YOUR_KEY/, and keep it secret.

Steps

Go, Connect to Server (⌘K), enter the server address, and sign in as a registered user with the username and password above. The folder opens read-only.

Good to know

  • Files are read-only. Add and delete them in Fastwater.
  • Files open through a redirect to a signed storage link, so the app must follow redirects. Every app in these guides does.
  • WebDAV does not save watch progress to Fastwater. Each app keeps its own.
  • Create one key per app, so you can sign one out alone under TV and devices.
